B.ED. is located on the 6th floor of the building AND is only accessible by elevator from the street and it takes some time to get up/down as a result.

B.E.D. is located half way along the block on 27th between 10th and 11th, the south side of the street. There is some construction work going on in the area, and it’s not particularly luxurious to look at, especially in the day light, but once inside you will love the place.

From the 6th Floor you have access to the enclosed and heated roof terrace, with tables, loungers, Beds, etc. and it’s spectacular views of Manhattan and The Empire State Building.

I HAVE TO PURCHASE THE TICKETS IN ADVANCE (BY NOON ON SATURDAY), SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY THEN IF YOU WOULD LIKE A TICKET PICKED UP FOR YOU.

Sunday Night Post-Trot Dinner - Jonathan put this one together and RSVP'd for enough people, so all you need to do is show up and EAT!

Where: Mint Indian Food - 50th Street between Lexington and 3rd. (212.644.8888)
When: Sunday, November 5th (6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.)
Details: Located in the San Carlos Hotel across the Kimberly Hotel.

Now - THE RACE!

Having not run this race before, I have to rely on a lot of second-hand knowledge from those who have or know the city. According to most sources, there are no shortage of people watching this thing (2-million) and combine that with the amount of people in the city already and you have a big number. My personal recommendation, for whatever it is worth, is to keep it simple and keep travel to a minimum.

I like the following locations:

* Mile 14.5 (St. John's Hospital - E or V line to 23rd Street/Ely Ave.)
* Mile 17.5 (Upper East Side - 1st Ave. @ 86th - 4 5 6 to 86th St.)
* Mile 24 (Central Park - 5th Ave. @ 86th - 4 5 6 to 86th St.)

The time between 14.5 and 17.5 isn't much (30 min)... so this might be a stretch... but the the Upper East Side location and Central Park location are six crosstown blocks apart and lead you right into Central Park where the Family Reunion area is located after the finish line.

If you want to plot your own course, by all means here are a few tools:

COURSE MAP - this is a great tool because it overlays Google Maps and you can add in mile markers, etc.

NYC SUBWAY MAP - the preferred way of moving around in NY, esp. with the streets being blocked off. If you click on the stations, you can see the relative cross-streets and compare them to the above. A bit tedious, but so is running for five hours!

MARATHON INTERACTIVE MAP - this toy is great for finding out when we will likely be where. To use, click on the "preparation" tab at the top and enter the time 4:20:00, hit "generate" and repeat for 5:00:00. This should give you your BEST sense of where we will be. If you let me know on Saturday where you plan to be, I will stay to the RIGHT side of the street and look for you around that point. This worked in Paris for Chris, Laurie & I, so it can be done!

Last - THE FINISH LINE!

There is a Family Reunion area where we should meet after we finish... it will likely take about 30 minutes after the race just to get through the replenishing stations, chip stations, etc. etc.

I will meet as many people as are around at the "N" area on Central Park West between 77th & 81st.

This hopefully will cover it and make it a GREAT time! Call me if you have questions!!!
