30 Days Later and Still Standing
It has certainly been a while... So what has been up?
Most of the last 30 days has been taken up by working towards finals, final presentations and general school work... but I made it through both my Financial Accounting class and Managerial Economics classes. I apologize to all the unreturned phone calls, unanswered emails and to my cleaning person, who has one messy house to clean up now that it is all over. I can say that I haven't had so much Papa John's and been in so many Starbuck's Coffees in my life!
Which brings me to the topic at hand -- RUNNING!!!
I am glad to say that I didn't miss a single long run... topping it
off with a hot & sweaty 14 miler around Stone Mountain last Sunday morning... and when I say morning, I mean EARLY!!! It is always an interesting run. To begin with, the outer loop that goes by the Marriott Evergreen Hotel, Stone Mountain Golf Course and the RV park is always a lonesome and desolate run... As a matter of fact the last time I ran it, it was February and there were snow flurries! In addition, Stone Mountain itself has quite a, uh, unique, history of its own... Definately a representation of the Confederate South!!Fundraising for my quest for New York and to support Team Continuum is also as active as it ever has been. Really, it still blows my mind that so many people are willing to help me RUN RUN RUN and also give to a worthwhile cause (not to mention a reason to keep focusing on this thing!!!).
To date, my total donations have reached over $1400.00!!!
I would like to thank a few new donors for their thoughts:
- Diane Saunders & Bob Rosen (New York, New York)
- Ronald Berg & Marlene Reichert (Nyack, New York)
- Robin & Jeffrey Spector (Bethesda, Maryland)
I also want to report that I am finally reeling in a training partner... Doug Cohen asked me during his daughter's Bat Mitzvah a few questions about running a marathon and before I knew it he was spending two hours at Big Peach Running Company with me in Marietta getting sized for shoes! And if you think this is something, Doug is already registered for the Georgia Marathon scheduled for next March! So I guess I know what my NEXT 26.2 mile trot will be... YIKES!
Next up, Sunday he is taking on the Stone Mountain outer loop with me!!
Stay tuned for a post-mortem!
