Running through NY with a lil help from my friends...
Hard to believe that it was only two months ago when I completed my first marathon in Paris, France. Well, I am at it again and this time I am training to run in the New York City Marathon on November 5, 2006.
This marathon is going to be different for a few reasons:
Friends! – Running Paris with my high-school friend Chris Hays and his wife Laurie was so much fun, we decided to expand the party. My best friend of 27 years, Sean Cassity as well as another high school compadre, Heather Spires will be leaving the start line together on race morning… I just hope I can keep up with the three of them as we leave from Staten Island and head over the Verrazano Bridge!!
Rememberance!
In addition to running in this marathon with three close life-long friends, I am running for another purpose. Many of you may know that in October, 2004, my father, Robert William Negretti, died from Melanoma. You may also know that my grandfather, Sol Rosen, was suffering from prostate cancer just before his death in September of 2005.

Life! My three-year old second cousin, Avi Spector, is currently recovering from an amazing year long battle with Osteosarcoma. My life, like many of yours, has been touched by the world of cancer, so I will be running the NYC Marathon in honor of Avi and in memory of Robert & Sol.
As part of this run, Chris Hays & I have “teamed” up to not only celebrate this event together, but also raise money for
Team Continuum. Team Continuum is a bit different than many of the other foundations raising money for cancer in that instead of raising money for the on-going research of the causes and cures for cancer, they pledge to help the immediate needs of cancer patients that are being treated in New York City – a place special to many of us!
To make this run possible, I am asking help from you in two ways:
Come out and cheer us on!! – It is a long 26.2 miles, but that distance gets cut very short very quickly when I can look forward to see each of you along the race route… what better of a way to take in New York City (all five boroughs mind you) in the fall!
Contribute!! – The good folks at Team Continuum have asked Chris & I to join their team in exchange for being able to help their efforts in supporting cancer patients in their on going needs through their struggles and eventually, their triumphs. I need to raise $2500 – maybe even more, to be able to run in the marathon. Please consider helping me out with this important goal by DONATING right now.
To keep everyone informed about my quest to run in the NYC Marathon, I will be posting weekly updates on my website, www.siddnegretti.com so please stop by and check it out. It will also have information about Team Continuum and other on goings in my life!
Thank you very much for your time.

In The Blood Premieres!
As a good handful of you may know, my best friend Sean has been producing a feature length film for the past two years. The film is titled "In The Blood" and was filmed largely around the Columbia University campus in New York City in the summer of 2004.The good news is that it is finally done and was premiered at NewFest in New York City on June 6th. Early indications are that the film has been received extremely well and there appears to be a bit of buzz starting as the film prepares for a midnight showing at OutFest on Saturday night, July 15th in Los Angeles at the Vista Theater. Sean and the writer/director Lou Peterson, have worked hard to say the least and it looks like their efforst are finally being rewarded. Please check out some of the reviews and even the official site page to learn more about the film.
